Grovenbridge Academy is a specialist company that provides training, education, interims and consultancy to professionals working in Facilities Management, Estates and related functions primarily in the UK health and social care sectors. In the future, the Academy plans to expand into other business sectors with similar structures and requirements to the current target market place such as local authorities, the prison service, schools, and colleges/universities.
The Academy sits within the Grovenbridge Group and has been established to help ensure that facilities teams can address the issues around personal and professional development, succession planning and professional, efficient and effective service delivery for their employing organisations. This is done through a series of accredited courses drawn together from the team’s previous experience, training portfolio and offerings from a range of professional bodies, NHS internal training courses and commercial training organisations.
Background knowledge from the various projects our staff and consultants have been involved in or lead, including the development of a series of nationally recognised Good Practice Guides, the leading Healthcare Benchmarking Club, NHS Capital Charges, PFI and large scale project management (Procure21+), places the Academy in an excellent position to provide training, advice and guidance on:

Current drives within the sector towards nationally recognised qualifications (Healthcare Assistants and Domestic Services staff) and the drive from Skills for Health towards a training Quality Mark and the recent establishment of the National Skills Academy for Health reinforce the importance of what the Academy has been established to provide.
Grovenbridge Academy recognises that there are excellent academic courses available relevant to the area in which it works and it does not intend to compete with these. However, while there are many vocational and management skill specific courses that are of real benefit to the individuals who undertake them, there are very few relevant accredited courses that provide the learners with a properly transportable qualification that moves with them as they change employer. Also, once accredited, these valuable courses and the skills learned and tested through them, can become credits towards higher qualifications and professional recognition. Through its wide-ranging contacts Grovenbridge Group can facilitate this process for the benefit of the individual learners and their employing organisations.
We are based on a business park just outside of Daventry in Northamptonshire, being central for the UK, but our staff and consultants can work from their homes in various locations around the UK and on our clients’ sites. Because of the need to meet learners from within our client groups in their own locations we generally run our courses using the Education and Training Centres based within the client organisations or by hiring high-end facilities in local hotels, science parks and conference centres.
