What is CELL?Which courses are accredited? What does accreditation mean for me?

Constructing Excellence in Learning Ltd (CELL) is an Awarding Organisation approved and regulated by Ofqual.

As Grovenbridge Academy is approved as an Accredited Training Centre with CELL, we must comply with Ofqual’s tough quality standards.

Our qualifications are designed to meet the rigorous standards required for The Register of Regulated Qualifications and certification is issued under the CELL Awards banner where appropriate. Any of our qualifications that are placed in the Register of Regulated Qualifications are clearly marked as such on this site.

The first course to be accredited is in our series on Estates and Facilities Information Management and is entitled Driving Cost Improvement. This has been given a CELL Level 3 Award and has also been accredited by Ofqual as:

CELL Level 3 Award in Estates and Facilities Information Management: Driving Cost Improvement under the Register of Regulated Qualifications reference 601/2513/5

You can read more about this course and the qualification it can lead to here (PDF).

Driving Cost Improvement is effectively a foundation or introductory course to the series and has already been run very successfully with extremely positive feedback for both the NHS and Social Housing sectors. The second course is planned to lead to a Level 5 Award which will be known as CELL Level 5 Award in Estates and Facilities Information Management: Premises Assurance. The course is now ready to be run and covers the background and reasoning behind the NHS Premises Assurance Model and the practical issues involved in running the Model both within the NHS and outside of the NHS using the ideas from the NHS as an exemplar of good practice. More details on this course can be found here (PDF). The qualification from this course is currently going through its accreditation process.

More courses will follow soon but, in the meantime, our complete list of available courses is here and our Events Programme is here.

Passing the end of day assessment for an accredited course could result in a formal Award which will count as 1 Credit towards an appropriate higher qualification (subject to the rules of Accreditation of Prior Learning with the Awarding Organisation of the higher qualification).

Benefits of Accredited Qualifications:

  • Provide credibility through assessment
  • Guarantee that learners have reached a required standard
  • Provide learners with flexible and transferable skills & knowledge
  • Consistency of learning standards for the subject/skill

The session was very positive and I enjoyed the instruction we received.  It covered all the key points and achieved the aims of the day.

I have had limited involvement in the subject to date & have found it a good insight. Thank you.
